Verbier & the Four Valleys

Verbier is a popular Alpine village located in the South West of the Swiss Alps in the region of Valais. Verbier is full of charm and surrounded by spectacular snowcapped mountains. In Winter, Verbier is at the heart of the Four Valley ski area and guests are drawn to the combination of exceptional mountains for snowsports and a town that has a thrilling nightlife and a broad range of bars and restaurants. In Summer, hiking and biking trails are popular and the meadows on the mountains are full of wild flowers and gentle streams.

The Four Valleys form part of Switzerland’s largest ski area with 410km of world class pistes. The highest point is Mont Fort at 3330m and the viewing platform at the top of this mountain offers a spectacular panorama of the Matterhorn, Dent Blanche, Dent d’Herons, and Mont Blanc Massif. The Four Valleys link the smaller resorts of Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon to the resort of Verbier, together creating one of Europe’s largest ski resorts and offering endless possibilities for the mountain enthusiast.

In Winter it is possible to ski ‘safari’ around the Four Valleys and enjoy incredible views like the ‘Valley du Rhone’ from Veysonnaz and the Matterhorn and Europe’s highest dam, the Grande Dixence from Thyon. The area also has one of Switzerlands longest sledge runs providing 10km of downhill twists and turns. Despite the fact that Verbier village lies at an altitude of 1600m, Verbier and the Four Valleys enjoy up to 300 days a year of sunshine and blue skies, so the favourable climate coupled with the extensive mountain terrain makes Verbier a top all year round destination resort.

Health & Wellbeing

Switzerland enjoys four distinctive seasons. Autumn sees the fruit ripen and the leaves change colour. Winter is colder and snowy. Spring is when the trees blossom and the meadows turn green. Summer has higher temperatures which can regularly average 30 degrees plus.

Throughout the year, Switzerland enjoys mostly clear blue sky days, and these skies along with the fresh unpolluted air are a healthy influence on the environmental wellbeing of Swiss citizens and visitors. In all four seasons, the sun shines and even after fresh snowfall, the skies will quickly return to blue and frame the panorama of snow capped mountains and the lakes.

Many guests to Switzerland find the climate, fresh water and beautiful panoramas can be very rejuvenating and often induce a calmer, more relaxed feeling of wellness.
